How to pitch Mainline
Mainline accepts both story pitches and completed drafts. For pitches, please include:
- Your proposed story or central argument
- Why the story matters now
- Its connection to Mainline’s coverage and audience
- Who you plan to interview or what sources you will use, if applicable
- Your estimated timeline
- A short bio and links to relevant work
For completed drafts, include a short introduction, word count, brief author bio, and disclosure of whether the piece has been published or submitted elsewhere.
Send all editorial tips, pitches, and completed drafts—including news, culture, and music submissions—to mainlinenews@protonmail.com. Our team will review and route each message to the appropriate editor, so there is no need to contact multiple inboxes.

Submitting a pitch or draft does not guarantee publication. Any editing, payment, rights, and publication terms will be confirmed directly with the writer before a piece is accepted.
All pieces are now published through Patreon.
